MAINTAINING YOUR FINANCIAL AID ELIGIBILITY
To keep receiving federal financial aid, you must continue to meet financial aid requirements. You must make Satisfactory Academic Progress, start attending your classes, and not officially or unofficially withdraw from all of your classes.
- Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP):
You must meet CCC’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards to receive financial aid. CCC checks your SAP at the end of each semester. You must meet all of the minimum standards.
- Dropping or Withdrawing and Financial Aid: If you receive federal financial aid and never attend, or stop attending all of your active classes after your aid has been paid, you may have to repay some or all of the money. The money may need to be repaid to CCC or the U.S. Department of Education. Learn how withdrawing affects your aid.

Check Your CCC Student Email
Financial Aid sends important information to your CCC student email. Check it often, including between semesters.
Respond as soon as possible when Financial Aid asks you for information.
Messages may include:
- Requests for missing documents
- Changes to your financial aid
- Satisfactory Academic Progress notices
- Appeal decisions
- Important deadlines
Attend Your Classes
Registering for a class is not enough to receive financial aid. You must attend your in-person classes and complete assignments in each online class. If you are reported as not attending or participating, your financial aid may be delayed or canceled.
Dropping, withdrawing from, or not completing a class may also affect your current or future aid. Contact Financial Aid before you change your schedule.
Financial aid is only offered for courses that count toward your degree. If you take courses outside your program, your financial aid offer and how your aid pays for your courses may be affected.
